LOS ANGELES, CA (January 6, 2011) Van Halen, Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductees and one of the most important and influential rock bands of all time, announced their return to the live stage with an extraordinary 2012 North American tour. The announcement was made late last night, during a once-in-a-lifetime performance, at the intimate Café Wha? in New York City. Known around the world for some of the most iconic live performances in music history, the legendary rock band will begin their tour on February 18. Kool & The Gang will join Van Halen for select tour dates. -

IRON MAIDEN's Bruce Dickinson will join JETHRO TULL frontman Ian Anderson and Justin Hayward of the MOODY BLUES on Saturday, December 10 for what is being billed as "Canterbury Rocks At Christmas" in the nave at the famed Canterbury Cathedral in Kent, England in support of The Canterbury Gift, which raises money for renovation work on the cathedral. -

Def Leppard will come back to Down Under this year, with special guests, in their first Oz trip, Canadian legendary group Heart featuring sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. The tour kicks off in Perth at the nib Stadium on Saturday October 15.
With more than 65 million albums sold worldwide, Def Leppard – Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick “Sav” Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) – continue to be one of the most important forces in rock music.
Def Leppard’s new live album (2CD and DVD) Mirror Ball Live & More will be released in Australia on Friday 17 June through Riot! Entertainment.

Tickets for the mammoth festival, the line-up for which boasts Alice Cooper, Van Halen and Hole can be bought directly through the festival website at http://tickets.soundwavefestival.com/ and also through Oztix and Ticktek.
Tickets are $166.30 + BF and if the pre-sales have been anything to go by, are probably not going to stick around for all that long.
