Dave Navarro Releases Signature Epiphone
Dave Navarro Signature
With his six-string skills best described as a merger between heavy metal, psychedelia and modern rock, Dave Navarro became one of alternative rock’s first true guitar heroes. Throughout his seminal work with Jane’s Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers, his guest spots on Nine Inch Nails’ Further Down the Spiral and Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill – all alongside acclaimed solo releases and his Camp Freddy covers project – Navarro has proven himself one of the most versatile guitarists on the alt-rock scene of the past 25 years. And while his incendiary electric chops are usually front and center, he has long been recognized as an acoustic player of enormous impact, a fact that Epiphone now celebrates with the new Dave Navarro Signature Acoustic/Electric model.
Built to cover all Navarro’s tonal and performance needs, and dressed in a unique package that reflects the star’s distinctive persona, the Dave Navarro Signature Acoustic/Electric is primed as a super-playable, ultra-versatile gigging tool for today’s rocker. Top quality solid tonewoods and first-class Epiphone construction ensure that the Dave Navarro Signature begins with the emphasis on acoustic, while a cutting-edge pickup and preamp system developed by Epiphone in cooperation with Shadow of Germany lets you take it all electric in a big way, in an instant. Wrap it all in an ebony finish with multi-ply binding and abalone soundhole rosette, custom engraved pickguard, and custom mother-of-pearl “unicursal hexigram” inlays on an ebony fingerboard, and the Dave Navarro Signature Acoustic/Electric a guitar that looks like no other, too. -

The Deftones’ bassist Chi Cheng was involved in a car accident in late 2008 and has since been in a coma, but the band has revealed that his condition is improving.
Lead singer Chino Moreno has explained Cheng’s current health situation in an interview with The Quietus. “He’s been out of his coma for a while now,” Moreno says, “which is great” the singer claimed. He’s still in a minimally conscious state, which means he sleeps a lot, wakes up, opens his eyes and looks around but he’s yet to communicate.
